    What’s your controversial anime take?

    Today at BlerdCon, I had the opportunity to interview an incredible Demon Slayer cosplayer portraying Inosuke Hashibira! We jumped into some fun anime debates, including which series might be a little overhyped and why certain fan-favorite shows don’t always live up to the hype for everyone.

    We also talked about the creativity of the Blerd community and how cosplayers put their own unique spin on beloved characters. From custom designs to original interpretations, it’s always inspiring to see how fans bring their passion and individuality to cosplay.

    One of the best things about BlerdCon is seeing so many talented people come together to celebrate anime, gaming, comics, and Black geek culture in their own way.

    If you could meet any Black fictional character, who would it be?

    I had the wonderful opportunity to interview two talented cosplayers dressed as the legendary Marvel characters Storm and Erik Killmonger!

    During our conversation, we discussed which Black fictional characters we would love to meet in real life and what makes these characters so impactful within pop culture. We also talked about how BlerdCon feels like one big family reunion—a place where Black nerds, creators, cosplayers, and fans can come together, celebrate their passions, and build lasting connections. The sense of community, creativity, and belonging is what keeps so many attendees coming back year after year.

    Is the Zen’in Family All Bad?

    I had the opportunity to interview two amazing cosplay guests: Maki Zen’in and Toji Fushiguro cosplayers!

    We dove into the big question: Is the Zen’in family really all bad? Because these cosplayer made them seem nice!

    We discussed what truly makes a top-tier anime and highlighted a hidden gem that many fans may have overlooked because it never received an English dub. Plus, we broke down how the Shibuya Incident changed the landscape of Jujutsu Kaisen forever. From shocking character moments to heartbreaking losses, the arc delivered an emotional rollercoaster that left viewers stunned and sparked countless conversations throughout the anime community.

    Are we entering the Soul World? I had an amazing interview with a talented Death The Kid, Liz, and Patty cosplay group from the iconic anime Soul Eater! We talked about whether Soul Eater truly deserves a remake after all these years, especially with Fire Force coming to an end. Could this finally open the door for Soul Eater to return with a proper adaptation?

    We also reflected on how BlerdCon continues to bring anime fans, cosplayers, and the Black nerd community together through creativity, passion, and culture. From cosplay craftsmanship to anime debates, the energy was unmatched!

    5 Furry Years At Blerdcon | Blerdcon 2026

    I had the chance to interview a 5-year BlerdCon veteran to talk about what makes BlerdCon such a special experience year after year. We talked about whether the convention still feels fresh after attending multiple times, what keeps drawing her back every year, and how the energy of the community continues to evolve. From the atmosphere to the people, she shared why BlerdCon remains one of the few spaces where Black nerds, creatives, gamers, anime fans, cosplayers, and geeks can truly feel at home.

    One of the highlights of the interview was hearing about the creation of her incredible Black eccentric furry cosplay. We got into the inspiration behind the design, the creative process, the challenges of bringing the character to life, and how rewarding it felt seeing the final result come together so beautifully. The cosplay was bold, unique, and honestly unforgettable, a true reflection of creativity and self-expression within the Black nerd community.

    We also had a deeper conversation about the importance of Black nerd spaces and why conventions like BlerdCon matter. Representation, community, creativity, and feeling accepted were all major topics during our discussion. It was an amazing conversation about identity, passion, and celebrating every side of being unapologetically nerdy and Black.

    On today’s interview, I had the wonderful opportunity to speak with several first-time attendees of BlerdCon, just like myself. We discussed what it means to be part of the Blerd culture and why this community is so important to so many people.

    We also talked about our top three favorite anime series and had some fun imagining which shows we would bring back if we had the chance.

    From anime and cosplay to gaming and comics, BlerdCon is a place where Black nerds can celebrate their passions, connect with like-minded fans, and feel right at home in a welcoming and empowering community.

    For the first interview of the BlerdCon 2026 arc, I linked up with an incredible cosplayer @SenshiKuriko who dress as Number 5 from Code Name Kids Next Door, who’s been to FOUR BlerdCons strong!

    We talked about what really makes BlerdCon special, from the creativity of the cosplayers, to the nonstop activities, to the powerful vibe of being surrounded by the Blerd community.

    We also got into her favorite anime like Sailor Moon and classic cartoons, especially the ones she’s bringing to life through cosplay.

    This is just the beginning… BlerdCon 2026 arc officially starts now.
