Streaming Story Lab: Turning Streams into TV Shows

With my background in filmmaking, earning a bachelor’s degree in Film and completing my master’s degree in Filmmaking this summer, I believe every stream has the potential to become a story. Inspired by anime like One Piece and Katekyo Hitman Reborn!, this club will teach students how to create characters, world-build, and develop exciting story arcs that can transform livestreams into engaging TV-show-style experiences.

Through fun games, creative challenges, and collaborative activities, members will learn storytelling fundamentals and create their own short story or streaming project by the end of the semester. My name is Shamar “Vibez” Binns, a filmmaker, content creator, interviewer, and founder of Vibez Central Media.

I earned my bachelor’s degree in Film and am currently completing my master’s degree in Filmmaking. As a proud Jamaican-American creator, I am passionate about storytelling, media production, and celebrating diverse cultures through film, streaming, and digital content. Over the years, I have interviewed creators, voice actors, cosplayers, artists, and fans at conventions and pop culture events, creating engaging conversations about anime, gaming, film, and geek culture.

My work focuses on bringing communities together while highlighting the creativity and passion that make these spaces unique. I also take pride in sharing and celebrating my Jamaican heritage, incorporating Caribbean culture, storytelling traditions, and community values into my projects and content. Inspired by anime, filmmaking, and real-life experiences, I strive to create content that entertains, educates, and inspires others to tell their own stories. Through Vibez Central Media, my goal is to provide a platform where creativity, culture, and community can thrive.
