Coming from someone who isn’t a Resident Evil gaming fan and doesn’t know all the lore behind the games, I can say this movie was surprisingly easy to jump into and understand.

The film has a great blend of horror and comedy, knowing when to build tension and deliver scares while still giving you moments to laugh. You don’t need to know the games or their history to follow what’s happening or enjoy the story.

For anyone worried that you need to be a Resident Evil expert before watching, you don’t. It does a good job of welcoming newcomers into this world without making you feel lost.
